Hate Valentine’s Day? Let’s face it, being single on Valentine’s Day can really suck. Red hearts and cupids everywhere you turn and lovey dovey cards in your face. You can’t even stop in at the grocery store without being inundated. Even those of you with significant others can hate Valentine’s Day, a holiday largely exploited by the greeting card industry. Your wife/girlfriend/significant other expects chocolate and flowers and a romantic dinner out and you see the dollar signs flashing before your eyes and the pressure is on to plan something spectacular or risk disappointing her. Well, for those haters out there, here is a list of Anti-Valentine’s Day activities happening in and around Austin for 2008:

Ok, so its Valentine’s Day….. Thats right. The silly contrived and completely irreverent holiday that Hallmark invented to give them a boost at the end of Q1. Are you really going to let Hallmark make a fool out of you!??! HELL NO!! You are going to come to the second annual I’D RATHER BE SINGLE THAN WITH MY EX party at Hi-Lo. We will be there in full cupid attire rocking out from 10pm to midnight with plenty of shot specials and all kinds of other awesome things. We’re also looking for a few funny valentines or anti-valentines songs for the party so suggestions wouldn’t suck. DO IT. See you on valentines!!!
