It looks like a bit of a slow weekend after ACL Fest but hey…free museum day!:

What: Austin’s 10th Annual Museum Day
When: Sunday, September 23, 2007
Where: 30 participating museums and sites

The Austin Museum Partnership will hold the 10th Annual Austin Museum Day - a free, city-wide rediscovery of Austin museums on Sunday, September 23, 2007 with 30 participating museums and sites.

What: Crack of Dawn Garden Party
Where: Eastside Cafe
When:Saturday from 7:30-10:30am
$$$: Free (suggested $20 donation goes towards Urban Roots)
Help them start their fall garden and then stay for mimosas, sparkling garden punch, artisan bread, an assortment of cheeses, and fresh fruit salad. Bring garden gloves and tools if you have them, a lawn chair if you’d like to lounge later, or just a smile and yourself! To RSVP, call 512.494.1464. Spots are limited

What: Chinatown Center’s 1-Year Anniversary & Moon Festival Celebration
When: Sept. 22-23
Where: Chinatown Center, at the intersection of Kramer and N. Lamar

What: Pioneer Farms Open House (part of museum day)
When: Sunday, Sept. 23, 1pm-5pm
Where: Pioneer Farms

What: That Other Paper Presents…Punchline!
When: Friday 09/21 (10:00PM)
Where: ColdTowne Theater 48 1/2 and Airport Blvd

What: InkFest
When: September 21-23rd, noon to 11PM on Friday and Saturday and noon to 4 on Sunday
Where: Austin Convention Center

What: Fantastic Fest 2007
Where: Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar
When: September 20-27, Austin, TX

Fantastic Fest is a week-long festival featuring the best in new science-fiction, fantasy, horror, animation, crime, Asian, and all around badass cinema. The event was created to offer exposure to genre films which are often overlooked by the traditional festival circuit. We strive to offer acquisition, media and exhibition opportunities for undistributed films as well as to spotlight upcoming genre theatrical releases and give audiences a chance to see 35mm prints of repertory classics.
